This is a report of the results of a single dataset as part of a larger series of datasets run in CONVERGE. The larger series is a simple variation of 12 geometric piston shapes, 3 different initial swirl angle boundary condition, and 3 different initial fuel injection times, resulting in a total of 108 different runs. These 108 datasets were run over a prescribed fixed engine speed and portion of the engine cycle. The primary factor used to judge these results was the predicted power output from each configuration. A separate report was made, focusing on determining and illustrating the trends of the various input parameters to the max power. This report focuses on the single dataset which predicted the highest predicted power, and illustrating the results of just that dataset.
This report focuses on a single dataset, found to predict the highest predicted power over the portion of the cycle that was run. This report is meant to not only present the results of the simulation through various visualization techniques, but also specifically highlight various features of the results which reinforce this prediction of highest power.
